She married CPO William Duemling SR. in 1929 a marriage that lasted 58 years until his death in 1988. Margaret was an excellent student and skipped a grade. She had an desire for education but was unable to attend college in her youth. Later on in life she took every available course at Olympic College until she was past 70 years of age.
In 1941, she moved to Bremerton where she reared her 4 children. During the Korean War she returned to the workforce and worked as a machinist in the PSNS. Later she worked as a Math Technician at the Keyport Torpedo Station until her retirement in 1972.
