Margaret Hourihan (nee Power), beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, died Aug. 4, 2012, at the age of 98. Margaret was born in Charlestown, and moved to Dorchester in the early 1950s. She had been a Quincy resident since 1977 and has thoroughly enjoyed her neighborhood and her very kind neighbors in Quincy. Mrs. Hourihan worked for the Boston Light House Service which became part of the Coast Guard during World War II. After the war, she was an office manager at the Boston office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Then, after taking time off to raise a family, Margaret finished her career as an assistant clerk of the Boston Municipal Court. She was the sister of the late Thomas Power; and the wife of the late James F. Hourihan Sr. She is survived by her son, James F. Hourihan Jr. and his wife Ellen of Beverly, and their children, Kevin and Colleen; and her daughter, Ellen Banner of South Amboy, N.J., and her husband Spencer, and their children, Margo and Edmund. Margo is married to Christopher Poandl and they have three children, Dylan, Brian and Julie Rose. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to a memorial Mass at St. Anns Church on Hancock St., Quincy, at 10 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012. Funeral arrangements by the Clancy-Lucid Funeral Home of Weymouth. Donations in Margarets memory may be made to the John Adams Resident Council Fund, 211 Franklin St., Quincy, MA 02169.
