Mabel Carpenter, 85, of Coldwater, passed away on , July 21, 2012 at the Community Health Center of Branch Co.

Mabel was born November 24, 1926 in Manchester, Kentucky to Larkin & Bertha (Hensley) Reed .

She married Wilbur Carpenter on May 7, 1949 in Hamilton, Ohio.

Mrs. Carpenter was a dedicated wife, mother and homemaker and had also worked outside the home at various places.

She was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Coldwater where she belonged to the Ester Circle.

Mabel enjoyed cooking with her circle for church dinners and she especially enjoyed making cakes, which they would donate to many of the local nursing homes.

She had been a longtime member of the Order of the Eastern Star and was active in the White Shrine of the Masons, having served through the chairs.

Mabel had also volunteered with the CHC Auxiliary. Most of all, Mabel enjoyed spending time and taking care of her family.

Mable is survived by her husband Wilbur, her sons Vance, Ron, Don , John , her daughter Wanda, her sister Beulah, 15 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 2 great -great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her grandson Joseph C. Sparks and many brothers and sisters.

Interment will follow at Knauss Cemetery in Kinderhook Township.
