Zoe Ann Blankenship, 77, of Shelbyville passed away Sunday, July 22, 2012 at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis.
Born February 25, 1935, in Fairland, she was the daughter of Kenneth L. Bowman and Frances (White) Perry. She married Roy A. Blankenship on September 7, 1974, and he preceded her in death on August 21, 1996.
Survivors include her daughter, Kelly L. (husband, Carl) Brown of Indianapolis; sons, Michael B. (wife, Debra J.) Waterbury of Westfield and Keith A. (wife, Christine Allen) Waterbury of Eugene, Oregon; brother, Kenneth L. (wife, Dorothy) Bowman of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Andrea M. Waterbury-Heath, Jeremy M. (wife, Andrea) Waterbury, Steven M. Waterbury, Brandon (wife, Cindy) Waterbury, Benjamin D. Elsbury, Jamie L. Elsbury, Theanna Allen and Tam Myers; and great-grandchildren, Jule Elsbury and Lindsey Waterbury.
She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Mrs. Blankenship was a lifelong resident of Shelby County and graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1953.
She retired in 1995 as an administrative assistant at Indiana National Guard Armory in Shelbyville, after more than 20 years of service.
Mrs. Blankenship was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, and she enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, attending functions at the Moose and 40 & 8 clubs, traveling and IU basketball.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm, Friday, July 27, 2012 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St.
Funeral services will be at 10 am, Saturday, July 28, 2012 at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Fairland Cemetery.
