LaRue Dunn Bloomquist our beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother, surrounded by her family, joined her Heavenly Father on July 23, 2012
Born October 3, 1923 in Midvale, Utah to Vera Hobbs and Sylvan John Dunn. She was raised in a family of seven wonderful brothers and sisters. LaRue was a Jordan High School Beet Digger and rode the bus three miles to school each day. LaRue was a champion sleigh rider down Bunker Hill each winter and in summers became a beautiful synchronized swimmer in her young women's group.
Married to Douglas John Eric Bloomquist in Salt Lake City February 21, 1941. Later, was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Active in the church all her life, serving in many ward and stake positions. She served with husband in church extraction and data entry programs, was also an ordinance worker in the Bountiful Temple. LaRue was a good homemaker, Wife, Mother and Grandmother with a special place in her heart for little children especially grandchildren. Loved living in Bountiful near all her wonderful neighbors and friends. Thanked Heavenly Father everyday for all her blessings.
Preceded in death by her Husband Douglas on February 20, 1993 and son Donald November 6, 2006.
Survived by; Johnny and Sue, Max and Sheri, Grant, and Byron and Robin. Brothers and Sisters; June, Donna, Roy and Norma, Ray and Anita, and Glen and Bonnie. Deceased Brothers, Ralph and Willis. 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Family would like to express our sincere and loving thanks to Bobbie and the many others at Orchard Cove Rehabilitation. Special acknowledgment to a long time home teacher Miland Kofford "who blessed my life."
A viewing will be held Friday July 27, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary 295 N. Main St Bountiful.
Funeral services will be held Saturday July 28, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Bountiful 17th Ward at 2200 South 600 East Bountiful. With a viewing from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services.
Interment will be at The Bountiful Memorial Park Cemetery 2224 South 200 West, Bountiful, UT immediately following the services.
