Last Will & Testament of Alonzo Pratt late of Troy Dec'd

In the name of God Amen, I Alonzo Pratt of Troy Bradford County, Pennsylvania being sick and weak in body but of sound mind & understanding considering the certainty of death and the uncertainty of time thereof & to the end I may be better prepared to leave this world whenever it may please God to call me hence do therefore make and declare this my last will and testament - in the manner following. I will that all my just debts as shall be owing at my death, together with my funeral expenses and all charges touching & proveing or otherwise concerning this my will shall in the first place be fully paid out of my effects, Item 1st I give and bequeath to my beloved brother Orrin Pratt five installments or payments of a certain obligation I hold against William R. Ruck which obligation has been assigned, and transfered to me by Alanick Ward entered in the court of Com. Pleas of Bradford County September 5, 1853 No_Dec 7, 1853 Debt Penal $4000, Real $2000, 1st installment payable April 1st 1855 of two hundred dollars, 2nd due April 1st, 1856 of two hundred dollars, 3rd due April 1st, 1857 of two hundred dollars, 4th due April 1st, 1858 of two hundred dollars, 5th due April 1st, 1862 of two hundred dollars together with the interest on the payments as they become due, and to my sister Lucy Andrus I give and bequeath one installment of the aforesaid obligation of two hundred dollars it being due April 1st, 1859, to my sister Eliza Vroman I give and bequeath one installment of two hundred dollars the same being due April 1st, 1860. To my half brother Jonathan Westgate I give and bequeath the remaining payment of two hundred dollars it being due April 1st, 1861. – My other obligations in notes judgements and accounts amounting in all to six hundred dollars or more, of which I give and bequeath to my half brother William Westgate, two hundred dollars which money I desire to be paid to William as soon after my decease as convenient, the balance of said amount after paying funeral expenses & all other charges, executors fees, and purchasing three sets of marble grave stones which I desire should be procured, one set for my father, one set for my mother, the other for myself, the balance if any I desire should be divided equally among my two sisters & William Westgate. And I hereby nominate and appoint Perry B. Pratt & Joseph Hilton executors of this my last will & testament, and I hereby authorize and empower them (the executors) if in their judgements it would be for the best interest of my brother & sisters within named and with the consent and advise of said brothers & sisters to sell the obligation before named for ready money and pay the same over to them & every of them according to their respective sums, and I hereby authorize & empower the aforesaid executors to transfer assign & set over the aforesaid obligation to any person or persons who should purchase said obligation in my name & in my stead. But if the aforementioned executors should not think proper to dispose of the same, then & in that case my will is that they collect the payments as they become due & pay the same as directed before, together with the interest on them, and each of them. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal as my last will & testament this second day of May AD 1854
