Aletha Doris Bongey was born the 6th child to parents Dan and Lena Bongey on July 20, 1914 in Freeport, Illinois. She married Henry William Birno (1913 - 1978) and the couple had four children: William Henry (1941), Dianna Lee (1943), David Buehler (1949) and Linda Arlene (1950). Aletha died on March 13, 2011 in the Twin Cities of Minnesota. Her memorial service was held at Forrest Hill Cemetery in Duluth on Friday, July 15, 2011. She is buried alongside her husband Hank.
