Benjamin Webb was one of the first Methodist Circuit Riders in Ohio. Benjamin came to Ohio and founded Webb's Summitt in 1816. His wife Elizabeth and seven children came with him as also did Elizabeth ,the daughter of his brother Thomas and her husband Shadrach Johnson and their family. Shadrach was also a Methodist Circuit Rider who had become acquainted with Benjamin Webb in Harrison, Virginia. Elizabeth, the daughter of Shadrach Johnson and Elizabeth Webb, married William McCormick IV who founded Maxville, Ohio. Benjamin and his wife Elizabeth, Shadrach and his wife Elizabeth and William McCormick IV are all buried in this cemetery.
