Claude Brannan Sr., 70, of Oyster Creek passed away Sunday, July 13, 2008, at his residence after a courageous battle with lung cancer. He was born Sptember 7, 1937, in Brady, Texas, to Claude and Mary White Brannan.

Claude served in the U.S. Army and was a heavy-equipment operator for 50 years. He enjoyed gardening and the great outdoors. He was a loving father and husband who just celebrated his 50th wedding anniversary to the love of his life, Dorothy Marie Brannan. He will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy; daughters, Peggy Rodgers and husband, Mark, Teresa Boatright and husband, George, and Mendy Smith and husband, Weldon; sons, Claudie ?Bubba? Brannan Jr. and wife, Debbie, and Clay Brannan and wife, BB; six siblings; nine grandchildren, Lee, Andy, Dustin, Sadie, Daniel, Jake, Jennifer, Jessica and Krystal; two great-grandchildren; and many other loving relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 16, 2008, at Waldeck Cemetery in Waldeck, Texas.
