S.O. Sanders, father of C.C. Sanders of the Ogden community died at his son's home at the age of 80 years. He had been in failing health.

Services were held at the Sanders home with J.D. Rothwell officiated assisted by Rev. J.R. Balch. Burial was in Riverview cemetery.

Samuel Oscar Sanders married Miss Martha Hickman on 22 July 1888 at Athens, Texas. To this union, 10 children were born. Mr. and Mrs. Sanders moved to the Ogden community from Port Lavaca in October of 1928 to make their home with their son.

Survived by his wife; children - Mrs. R.J. O'Connor, S.T. Sanders, E.S. Sanders, C.C. Sanders, M.G. Sanders, Mrs. F.D. Dickerson, Mrs. A.L. Mergenthaler, D.C. Sanders, Mrs. W.B. Azbell, R.B. Sanders; 18 grandchildren; one brother - J.R. Sanders.

Mrs. Sanders decided to move to her youngest daughter's home, Mrs. W.B. Abell after the funeral.
