Mrs. Lilla V. Bambury of Sandy Creek died Saturday morning, March 28, 1970 in the House of the Good Samaritan, Watertown. She was 84. She had been a patient there only since Monday and before that had carried on her usual activities.

She was the daughter of Charles and Cynthia Kelsey McKie and was born in Boylston April 24, 1885. In 1918 she married Fred Bambury and they operated a farm on the Orwell-Lacona road until 1937.

They moved to Orwell where Mr. Bambury died Feb. 3, 1938. Two sons by previous marriage, Leslie G. Ballou of Syracuse and Clyde A. Ballou of RD. 2, Lacona, survive; also two grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Lena Hilton Syracuse and a brother, Howard McKie of Pineville.

A grandson, David Ballou, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Ballou, died Sept. 21, 1954 at the age of 12.

Her funeral was held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Foster-Hax funeral home in Pulaski, Rev. Ivan Greenfield, pastor of Orwell Union church and Sandy Creek United Methodist church, officiating. Spring burial will be in Evergreen cemetery, Orwell.

Mrs. Bambury was a member of the Orwell Union church and its Circle of Gleaners; a member of Pulaski Chapter O.E.S, and, a 50-year member of Sandy Creek Grange.
