My grandfather was born on Jan. 18, 1901 to Frank & Mahala Williams. My grandfather's occupation was a heavy equipment operator; he drove bulldozers. He married my grandmother on May 1, 1920 in Bay City, TX area (Matagorda). Earl Frank Williams was 81 at the time of his death. He died at 5:45 a.m. Wednesday July 28th in the Comanche Community Hospital.


Grandfather was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Ward Williams; two sons, Junior Williams and Harold Ray Williams; two brothers, John Edward Williams and Jesse Archibal Williams; and one sister, Bessie Williams-Chatwell.


Survivors at that time include a son, Clarence(Cody)Williams of Fort Worth; three daughters, Mary E.Williams Walkoviak of Comanche, Joan of Fort Worth, and Dorothy Louise Smith of Levelland; sisterRosie Magdelene Williams-Freeman, of Comanche; 10 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.


Funeral services for my grandfather were held at 2 p.m. Friday afternoon July 30th in the Comanche Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Burton Hughes officiating. Interment was at Oakwood Cemetery, Comanche. Grandsons were pallbearers.
