Ratliff City - Funeral services for Mrs. Flora Jane (Owens) Britt, 71 of Ratliff City are scheduled for 2:00 PM Saturday, January 2, 2010 at the Ratliff City First Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Cox officiating. Burial will follow at the Ratliff City Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home in Ratliff City.
Flora was born Nov. 7, 1938 at Stephenville, TX to the late Mr. Wayne Owens and Mrs. Ora Eliza (Griffin) Owens. She departed this life Tuesday Dec. 29, 2009 at her home in Ratliff City
Flora was raised in Stephenville attending school there. She married the late Mr. John Henry Britt, Jr. October 23, 1953 at Weatherford, TX. They were residents of Ratliff City since 1971 and owned and operated J & F Portable Steam Co. for many years. Flora was always a devoted homemaker and housewife. After John passed away on October 30, 1991, she worked at the Healdton Hospital, retiring in 1998. Since then she has enjoyed staying home and listening to music. She was a member of the Ratliff City First Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband , also preceding her in death is her Parents, Sister, Billie Jean Trice, and Brother, Wayman Samuel Owens.
Survivors include 2 Daughters, Vicki Kirkpatrick and husband Allen of Velma, and Florena Paul and husband Tommy of Elmore City. Son, Johnny Britt of Ratliff City. 2 Brothers, Wayne "Moe" Owens and wife Carolyn and Lonnie Joe Owens and wife Mary all of Foster. 5 Grandchildren, Corey Paul, John Kirkpatrick, Amanda Paul Airington, Taylor Britt, and Tanner Britt. 2 Great Grandchildren, Brysen Airington and Blake Airington.
Pallbearers will be Nephews, Terry Trice, Vernon Trice, Clinton Trice, Sammy Owens, Lonnie W. Owens and David Owens.
Honorary Bearers will be Grandchildren, Corey Paul, John Kirkpatrick, Amanda Paul Airington, Taylor Britt, and Tanner Britt.
Family visitation will be held Friday evening from 5-7pm at the funeral home in Ratliff City.
