Candido Alarid, age 87, passed away March 2, 2004 in Moriarty, NM following an illness. Candido was born March 27, 1916 in Esteritos, Guadalupe County, NM to the home of Pedro and Luisita Baca Alarid.
He married Estella Baca December 17, 1946. He and his wife Estella were longtime cattle ranchers in Torrance and Guadalupe County. He was a member of the Cattle Growers Association and also a member of St. Rose of Lima Parish.
Candido loved ranching and tending to his cattle. He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 infant brothers, his sisters Amada Rasco and Helen Rodriguez.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years Estella of Borica, his children Beatrice Winn and husband Arnie of Little Rock, AK, Candido Alarid, Jr., and wife Flora of Estancia, NM, Susan Encinias and husband Bernie of Moriarty, Danita Agar and husband Karl of Santa Rosa, NM, Carl Alarid and wife Karen of Moriarty, NM and Dion Alarid of Santa Fe, NM. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, his brothers Ben Alarid and Faustin Alarid, his sisters Lupe Salas, Stella Murphey and Corine Quevedo.
