Mrs. Grace Russell
Mrs. Grace Sherwood Russell, aed 65, of Gibson, died at 3 o'clock this morning at her home following a 31 weeks illness during which time she had been confined to bed.
Mrs. Russell was born in Painted Post on May 3, 1872, the daughter of Phillip & Mary Jane Stickler. She was united in married with Wesley Sherwood of Painted Post. Mr. Sherwood died in July 19, 1928. Later she was married to Merton Russell.
The entire life of the deceased had been spent in Corning and vicinity where she was a practical nurse actively performing her duties in home and neighborhood. She was a member of the Gibson Baptist Church and of the Gleaner's Bible Class of that church.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Albright Shoemaker of Rush and Mrs. Vern Burgett of Gibson; one sister, Mrs. Hannah Pope of Painted Post; two brothers, Alvin Stickler of Corning and Walter Stickler of Bath; 3 grandchildren, James, Clifford and Marian Sherwood of Corning.
The funeral will be held privately from the home Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock and burial will be in Hope Cemetery.
