1950s Doo-Wop Singer. Raised in Toronto Canada, he and his group "The Crew Cuts," rose to international fame with their cover of the song, Sh-Boom the hit No. 1 in 1954 and a cover of the song Earth Angel that hit No. 3 a year later. Other hits included Ko Ko Mo, I Love You and Angel in the Sky. They went on to appear on the Gene Carroll Show in Cleveland, the Ed Sullivan's, Perry Como's and Eddie Fisher's TV shows. They also toured Europe, Japan and the U.S. After the Crew Cuts disbanded in 1964, Maugeri worked as a radio station DJ host programmer, in New York and Los Angeles. After his 1979 retirement, he and his wife Marilyn opened a wellness center in Los Angles, California. They later moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, where they opened a second branch, in 1990.
