She was born Aug. 24, 1929, in Monticello, Iowa, to John and Edna (Folkers) Hoult. She married Richard Harold Greim on Oct. 7, 1951, in Monticello, Iowa.
Surviving are her husband; two sons, Scott Greim and Todd Greim and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.
Betty had worked as an X-ray technician at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, until 1957, when she stopped to raise her sons. She was a charter member of Advent Lutheran Church in Morton since 1966. She was a member of the Pleasant Hill Mothers Club. She was an assistant scout leader and den mother with the Cub Scouts. Betty was an avid walker on the East Peoria Trail and enjoyed going to estate and garage sales. She loved flowers and working in her flower garden. She loved to correspond with many friends by email all over the United States and Canada. She was an avid bird watcher and loved cats. She was a volunteer with the American Diabetes Association, American Cancer Society and the American Heart Association.
Cremation was accorded. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 20, 2012, at Advent Lutheran Church, 1211 S. Main St., Morton, with Pastor Dennis O'Brien officiating. Burial of the cremated remains will be in Oakwood Cemetery, in Monticello, Iowa, at a later date.
Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton is handling arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Advent Lutheran Church in Morton, the American Cancer Society in Peoria or to Camp Courageous of Iowa, P.O. Box 418, Monticello, IA 52310.
