Mary Jane and Reuben divorced and she married Samuel H. Blount in April of 1889. They had 7 children: Harry H., Samuel Harvey, Harold M., Helen Irene, Florence M., Warren, and Bernice M. Blount. Samuel is listed as a Coal Operator in the 1900 census, when they had moved to Des Moines, Polk Co., Iowa. By 1910 Samuel was a partner in the coal mine, and son Harry worked as a miner.
The family is found in Des Moines also in the 1920, 1925, and 1930 censuses. Samuel d. in Des Moines in 1935, and Mary Jane was buried there after her death in 1947.
