SHELBINA Addison (Ash) Porter, 87, of Shelbina, died at 8:20 p.m. at the Salt River Nursing Home in Shelbina. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Shelbina. Father Pat Pierceall will officiate. Burial will be at the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Mr. Porter was born Sept. 14, 1910, in Palmyra to Everett Earl and Mattie Laurel Conaway Porter. He was first married to Sarah Elizabeth Hamilton. She preceded him in death Feb. 25, 1965. He was married to Genevieve Marie Kerr Stimpl Feb. 16, 1967. She preceded him in death Oct. 29, 1991. Survivors include three children, Ronald Porter and Charles Porter, both of Shelbina and Rose Marie Stimpl of Arvado, Colo.; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Lucille Turney of Shelbyville, Josephine Jones of Quincy, Ill. and Daisy McGlothin of Palmyra; and two brothers, Arthur Porter of Palmyra and Glen Porter of Monroe City. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Bobby Lee Addison; four brothers; and two sisters. Mr. Addison was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a retired farmer and an avid golfer. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday with a Scripture service at 7:30 p.m. at the Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Shelbina. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Shelbina Lakeside Golf Course.
