Leoma Bernice Nef Curtis, 90, passed away Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012.

She was born May 12, 1921, in Rexburg to Emil and Eva Lenora Johnson Nef.

Bernice was a member of the LDS church and served a mission to Birmingham, Ala., in 1979. She also served in various church callings. She spent 25 years of service in name extraction, which she thoroughly believed in and strengthened her everlasting testimony.

Bernice married Joseph Hiram Curtis on March 4, 1940, in Rexburg. They were married for almost 52 years before he passed away in February 1992.

Bernice enjoyed crocheting, needlepoint and reading.

She is survived by two sons and four daughters, LaVal (Ruth) Curtis, Eleanor (Bob) Morris, Nancy (Paul) Barfuss, Emily (Don) Neese, Jerry (Bonnie) Curtis and Marva (Paul) Jennings; 27 grandchildren; 74 great-grandchildren; 24 great-great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Relda (Leroy) McGary, Belva (Lloyd) Garner and Arnold (Leta) Nef.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a sister, Dorothy Smith; and three brothers, Darrel, Norman and Weldon Nef.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, at the Regal Country Ward, 3939 W. 4000 South in West Haven, Utah, where a viewing will be held from noon to 1:45 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will be in Rose Hills Cemetery in Whittier, Calif.

The family would like to thank Gardens Assisted Living, Curo Hospice Group, Peach Tree Place and all her friends and family.
