Cletus was married to Erlene H Sparks. Cletus died at 40 years of age with heart problems that were discovered at birth. He was born with an oversized heart and the Dr. said that he would not live long. Cletus decided to prove him wrong and lived an very active and healthy life for 39.5 years longer than said.
He was the son of Joseph Elum Klum Sparks and Henrietta Banks Sparks. He had six sisters;Vernie Wilburn, Blanche Fox, Nellie Ramsey, Charsie Sparks, Margaret Boyette, and Gladys Mullinax and two Brothers;James Sparks and Odis Sparks.He was survived by his wife, Virginia Erlene Sparks and two children Ricky Howard Sparks and Wanda Shuree Sparks. He now has four grandchildren; Amber Shuree Speer,Robert Franklin Alexander Speer, Ashley Shianne' Paige Speer and Larissa Shuree Starr Black.
Cletus was the Service Manager at Derrick Motor Company. He and Harold Horne were the best Automotive Service technicians Union County ever had.They both had a "sixth sense" with cars and treated them as if the cars were patients and they were their medical specialist.
