Marie Elizabeth Halford Bishop, of Walterboro, wife of the late Norman Lesney Bishop, passed from this life on the morning of February 16, 2012, in Nashville, NC.

Mrs. Bishop was born April 29, 1914. For many years she made her home with her children in Aiken, Spring Hope, NC, Atlanta, GA and Garner, NC.

She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Walterboro.

Mrs. Bishop is survived by a son George N. "Skip" Bishop (Myona) of Garner, NC and two daughters, Barbara Marie Ellis (Richard) of Spring Hope and Marilyn Elaine Walker of Atlanta, as well as by her daughter-in-law Ann Hope Bishop of Aiken; brother, Joe H. Halford of Monroe, NC; five grandchildren: Sandra Bowen (Rocky), of Apex, NX, Eddie Walker (Rhonda) of Fayetteville, GA, Beth Bilicki (Mark) of Piedmont, SC, Byron Bishop (Laurie) of Holly Springs, NC and Terry Bishop (Fred) of Helena, MT; and eleven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son James Berry Bishop.

Funeral services will be held February 19, 2012, at 2:00 in the Chapel of Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home with burial following in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
