Murfreesboro - HARRY EDWARD SWAIM, SR., 74, passed away Monday, May 26, 2008 at Middle Tennessee Medical Center.

Mr. Swaim served as Staff Sgt of the 82nd Airborne in the United States Army from 1951 to 1954. He was a State Director of Communicator Workers of America for the East, West, and Middle Tennessee, Alabama, and Louisiana from 1975 to 1999. He served on staff at AT&T from 1954 to 1975.

Mr. Swaim was a mason, an avid gardner, loved pets, traveled extensively and a member of 1st Baptist Church in Murfreesboro.

Mr. Swaim was preceded in death by his parents, Don Cevier and Margaret Swaim.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanette Swaim of Murfreesboro; sons, Eddie (Anne) Swaim of Murfreesboro, Michael (Wanda) Swaim of Shelbyville, Jay Eric (Holly) Swaim of Murfreesboro and Victor Snipes Swaim of Hammond, LA; 11 grandchildren; one great- grandchild; and mother-in-law Edna Snipes of Murfreesboro. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, May 28 from 5-9 p.m. at the Murfreesboro Funeral Home.

Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
