The deceased was born at Goodland, Ind., on July 6, 1883, making his age at death as 38 vears, 11 months and 17 days.
About fourteen years ago he came to this vicinity and was married on Oct 28, 1908 to Miss Gertrude Folkerts, the ceremony taking place at Eureka. They had since that time resided in Minonk.
Resides the widow, there survive four children: Lucile, Leslie, Sedora and Harriet.
There also survive the deceased's father, James Kerns, of Goodland, Ind., and one brother, Preston Kerns, of Minonk.
Funeral services were held at the late home on Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. Paul Buchmueller of St. Paul's Evangelical church being in charge, and burial was made at the Minonk cemetery.
The pallbearers were Mike Goliwas, Ned and Joe Rutkowski, Stani Greskoviak, Charles Lutomski and Henry Ullman, while Misses Agnes Zaitz, Anna Ullman, Agnes Goliwas, Helen Knoll and Elizabeth Broskoviak bore the flowers.
