Mary Slipko, 88, of Ambridge, died Wednesday, April 23, 2008, in the Sewickley Valley Hospital. Born Oct. 9, 1919, in Janesville, Pa., a daughter of the late Wascho and Kathryn Kost Warholic, she was a member of St. Vladimir Ukrainian Orthodox Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Slipko, on March 30, 1989, and several brothers and sisters. She is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, the Rev. Father Steve and Mary Slipko, Vancouver, British Columbia; Richard Slipko, Woodland, Pa., and John and Phan Slipko, Coraopolis, and a sister, Stella, in Connecticut. A Requiem service will be held today at 9 a.m. in St. Vladimir Ukrainian Orthodox Church, with the Rev. Father Michael Kochis officiating. Interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park. The Bohn-Matich Funeral Home Inc., 1099 Maplewood Ave., Ambridge, is in charge of arrangements. (Beaver County Times, April 25, 2008)
