Service Friday for Diane Royko
Diane Royko, age 66 of Chesterton, passed away Monday, December 12, 2011 in Valparaiso, Indiana.
She was born June 2, 1945 in Gary, Ind., to Paul and Marge (Bolin) Truth, both of whom preceded her in death. She was married to Andrew Royko, who survives in Chesterton.
Diane is also survived by her children, June (Brian) Wuerthele and Joan Patillo, both of Chesterton and Catherine (Dave) Mark of Westville; brother Paul Truth Jr. of Westville; special sister-in-law, Louise Stowe of Chesterton; grandchildren, Andrew Jensen, Kyla Patillo, Jenny Mark, Jessica Mark and Cassandra Wuerthele; great-grandchildren, Sydney and A.J. and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Carol Ward and Linda (Vernon) Young.
Diane formerly worked in the kitchen for Duneland Schools and as a secretary for Coldwell Banker. She was an avid golfer and a member of Robbinhurst Golf Club. She enjoyed playing horseshoes and won many trophies.
Diane was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend. She adored her family and spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 16, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, Ind., with Father Lawrence Heeg officiating. Burial will follow at Chesterton Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2011 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
