MILTON – FREEWATER—Mrs. Eva Winn Goodwin, 72, of 633 Evans, died Friday in a Walla Walla hospital after a sudden illness.
Mrs. Goodwin was born Sept. 23, 1897 at Hartline, Wash. and moved to Milton-Freewater in 1916. She had been employed in the post office until her marriage to Jesse W. Winn in 1919. They operated a farm on Couse Creek until his death Jan. 3, 1958. Mrs. Goodwin moved to her present address in 1962 and married Dee Roy Goodwin Feb 10, 1967.
Mrs. Goodwin had been very active in club work. She was a member of the State Line Grange, the Coop Co-op Club, both of Milton Freewater and the Golden Age Club of Walla Walla.
Besides her husband Dee Roy Goodwin, at the home, Mrs. Goodwin is survived by a step-son, Willis Goodwin of Walla Walla; and two brothers, Odis Higginbotham of Hartline, Wash., and L.W. Higginbotham of Maple Valley, Wash. Two step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Munselle-Rhodes chapel with Rev. Delbert McAmis of the United Church of Christ officiating. Vault interment will follow in the Milton-Freewater Cemetery.
