Planet W. Marlett, 74, 215 Seventh St., Carrollton, died Tuesday at his residence. Marlett had worked for Eison Brothers Furniture Company for 39 years and was a member of St. John's Catholic Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Prentis and Martha (Mattie) Beckham Marlett, two brothers Stanley Beckham and Richard Marlett, two sons Roy Douglas and William Wayne and one daughter Virginia Louise.
He is survived by five daughters: Mrs. Mary Helen Wilson, Madison; Mrs. Ailene Cain, Louisville; Mrs. Jean Cain, Carrollton; Mrs. Wanda Coghill, Tell City, Ind.; and Mrs. Betty Sue Mouzakitis, Cleveland, Ohio; six sons: Stanley, Anniston, Ala.; Richard, New York; Joe and Donald, Carrollton; Robert, and James, Eminence, Ky.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Graham-Dunn Funeral Home, Carrollton, with burial in the Carrollton IOOF Cemetery.

The Marlett name was originally written without an E as Mr. Marlett wrote his, but the E was later added and many branches of this family are presented both ways.
