Mandelbaum, Hertha Irma~(nee Brueckmann), age 91, November 2, 2005, a long-time St. Louis resident died peacefully with family and friends by her side.
She was the beloved wife for 60 years of the late Milton Mandelbaum; she was the oldest of 8 children of the late Robert G. and late Martha M. Brueckmann; her brothers William, Arnim, Herbert Brueckmann and her sister Marie Brueckmann preceded her in death; she is survived by her sisters Alma Drewes, Mildred Borsch, Martha Brueckmann and numerous nieces and nephews; she was a loving godmother, sister-in-law, friend and dog lover.
Hertha met Milton, a native of New York City, during World War II when he was stationed at Jefferson Barracks, MO. They married during the war and made their home in the New York City area afterward. Hertha was a legal secretary and Milton was in management with the US Postal Service. In 1980 they returned to St. Louis to retire. They enjoyed traveling, dining out and flower gardening.Services: Funeral service Tuesday, Nov. 8th, 11:00 a.m. at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
