He was born November 25, 1943 in Erie, a son of Cecil and Geraldine (Prickett) Edwards. He grew up and attended school in Erie and graduated from Erie High School.
He worked for various construction companies and retired from Schueck Steel Company in Little Rock, Arkansas in 2009.
He enjoyed his family, fishing, singing and playing the guitar, and playing golf.
He was a member of the Erie Masonic Lodge No. 76 of Erie.
Survivors are a son, Jerry Edwards and wife Janice of Goodlettsville, Tennessee a daughter, Angel Edwards of Mediapolis, Iowa his mother, Geraldine Edwards of Pittsburg sisters Phyllis Merrell of Pittsburg, Pat McGuire of Pittsburg, Joyce Honeycutt of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma and Donna Fields of Claremore, Oklahoma grandchildren James Michael Edwards, Kayla Deann Edwards, Lane Evan Millar and Taylor Nathaniel Edwards.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sunset Amber Edwards, his father, Cecil Edwards, a brother, Bill Edwards, and sisters Frances Galvin and Glenna Klenklen.
Funeral services will be at 100 p.m., Saturday at the First Christian Church in Erie with Rev. Paul Elliott officiating. Burial will be in East Hill Cemetery at Erie with Masonic Rites given by the Erie Masonic Lodge No.76.
The family will receive friends from 600 until 800 p.m., Friday at the Pierce-Carson-Wall Funeral Home where friends may call after 200 p.m., Friday.
