Parents were James Thedford Adkisson and Hattie Barnes. Married Sept. 3, 1949 in Buffalo, Leon County, Texas to Edith Virginia Martin. They had one child. He graduated from Jewett High School in 1943. And, joined the United States Air Force in Oct. 1943, where he became a radio operator. He was promoted to the rank of sergeant and air operations specialist prior to his honorable discharge in March of 1946. Following his discharge, he enrolled in Sam Houston University and graduated in 1949. He was employed by Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in Dallas for 36 years and was a member of White Rock United Methodist Church in Dallas. He retired in 1983 and moved back to Buffalo. Burial was June 10, 2008.
