Eldon Russell (Russ) Barnes passed on at his home on October 31, 2011.

Russ was born to Glenn & Marva Lou Barnes on July 7th, 1957 the 3rd of 8 children in St. Anthony, Idaho. Russ graduated from high school in Elko, Nevada in 1975 and entered the Navy in July of that year.

He served until October of 1979 and then married Kathy Castro on December 8th of that same year in Twin Falls, Idaho. They were blessed with the arrival of Kimberly Kehaulani on October 25th 1980 and Nathan on March 17th, 1982. Russ worked at Cain's in Twin Falls as an appliance repairman.

In 1982 the family moved to Texas and Russ worked as an independent appliance repairman until they moved back to Boise Idaho in 1984. Russ then began working for Sears and worked there until he became disabled and retired from appliance repair.

Russ is survived by his companion, Kim Gordon and her son, Kyle; his children: Kimberly, Nathan, and granddaughter, Tya Kruger, all of Meridian; his father, Glenn, of Twin Falls; brothers and sisters, Lynda (Tom) Giles, of Rio Rico, AZ, Dianne (Lynn) Kunzler, of Willard, UT, Luana (Kendall) Payne, of Lethbridge, Ontario, Canada, Lane (Marla) Barnes, of Jerome, ID, Tracy Barnes, of Jerome, Ron (Tracey) Barnes, of Shelley, ID, and Anita Ferguson, of Twin Falls, ID; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Marva, in September 2010.

A graveside service for Russ will be held on Friday November 4th at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery, 10100 Horseshoe Bend Rd., Boise, Idaho 83713 at 1:00 p.m.

Memorials for Russ may be made to the Boise VA Medical Center, Attn: Voluntary Services, 500 W. Fort St. Boise, Idaho, 83702.
