Mary was absent from the body and present with her Lord Feb. 29, 2008. She was born July 24, 1942 in San Diego to Faustino and Carmen Contreras. Mary was a resident of Lakeport for 14 years. She dearly loved her grand kids and loved doing crafts with them at Christmas time.
One of her notable events was her sisters' week-ends, where four sisters would gather and laugh and talk into the night. This continued for 22 years.
She was known by her co-workers for the great woman she was and her chips and salsa.
Mary is survived by four children, Ruben Arista of Forest Hill, Elizabeth Henningsen of Chico, Marcos Arista of Lakeport and Augustine Arista of Hawaii; brothers and sisters, Ralph Contreras and Elisa Magana both of Chico, Louisa Wynacht and Tina McPherson both of Lakeport, Joe Contreras and Nicolas Contreras both of Sacramento, Paul Contreras of San Francisco and Angie Vos of Minnesota; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
