Services for Mrs. Caroline Hooten Knight, age 92, will be held Friday, June 25, 2004, at 11 am at Johnston First Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the church from 10 to 11 am, prior to the service. Interment will follow at 4:30 pm at Pine Grove Cemetery, Eatonton, Georgia. Memorials may be made to Johnston First Baptist Church, 700 Church Street, Johnston, South Carolina 29832; or to Connie Maxwell Children's Home, PO Box 1178, Greenwood, South Carolina 29648. Bland Funeral Home of Johnston is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Knight, a native of Barnesville, Georgia, and widow of the Rev. Lon B. Knight, died Tuesday, June 22, 2004. She was a daughter of the late William Samuel and Ethel Eley Hooten. Mrs. Knight was a retired schoolteacher, having taught in Edgefield County schools for a number of years, and was a member of Johnston First Baptist Church and the Frances West Circle.

Survivors include a daughter, Caroline Voyles, of Greensboro, Georgia; a son, Dr. Lon Knight Jr. [married to Marion, daughter of Horace Witt Sawyer, Sr.] of Greenville; grandchildren, Elizabeth Voyles Mims, David Knight Voyles, April Marian Knight, Susan Caroline Knight and Marybeth Londa Knight; and three great-grandchildren.
