Dies After Being Ill Over a Year
Benjamin Harrison Bowles, a resident of Capitola for several years, passed away Sunday after an illness of over a year. Mr. Bowles was born 82 years ago in Missouri and in California first located at Newman, Stanislaus County in 1905, where his wife passed away in October of that year. After her death he came to Capitola, where he made his home with a brother, John T. Bowles, until the latter's death four years ago. A son of the deceased, Melvin Bowles, wife and family, came to Capitola in June of last year from South Dakota, and the deceased had their loving care until the end.
Surviving Mr. Bowles are two sons, W.L. Bowles of Patterson and Melvin Bowles, six grandchildren and six great grand children.
The remains will be shipped this morning to Newman by C.C. Chase and funeral services will be held there Wednesday.

Would appreciate information on location of Benjamin H. Bowles burial site. I assume he was buried in Stanislaus County, California, but have no proof.
