Francisco Tacderan was an immigrant from the Philippine Islands who worked at the Ewa Plantation on the island of O`ahu in Hawai`i. During the December 7, 1941 Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, he was wounded in the head by shrapnel, whether by friendly fire or enemy fire is not certain. He was taken to the Ewa Plantation Hospital where he died on December 13 at the age of 34. One of the 48 civilians killed as a result of the attack, he was buried at Ocean View Cemetery three days later.
