Mrs. Flora M. Anderson Laid to Rest Here

Funeral services for Mrs. Flora M. Anderson were held at the Creel chapel on Saturday afternoon. Mrs. Anderson died at Lemon Grove, Calif., Monday, April 4. Funeral services were held there Wednesday. Her son, Donald, came with the body to Lewistown. The services here were conducted by Rev. Clarence W. Orner of the First Presbyterian church. Interment was in Lewistown cemetery beside her husband.

Flora Munro was born at Glenroy, Ontario, Canada, Feb. 12, 1856. She was married to Peter Anderson at Helena, Mont., Jan. 25, 1881. When they moved to Lewistown in 1884 she was one of the first white women here. Their home was on the site of the present Masonic Temple. Her husband had a blacksmith shop where the People's Drug Store is now. On Jan. 7, 1894, she united with the Presbyterian church and remained a faithful and interested member since that time.

Her husband died from an accident Nov. 30, 1890.

She suffered from asthma and heart trouble for a number of years before she left here 20 years ago. She went with her daughter at that time to Washington and California because of her health. She enjoyed fair health for some time after reaching there but of late years she has been ill but not bedfast. She was up and around a part of each day. She had a kindly and sunny disposition and was always thinking of others rather than her own ills. Many found strength and help from her friendly fellowship.

She is survived by one son, Donald. M., of San Diego; and two daughters, Mrs. Katherine Elliott of Lemon Grove, Calif., and Mrs. Henry Otten (Jennie) of Lewistown.
