Dorothy Josephine Leaverton

Dorothy was the daughter of John Edward Leaverton and Clara Rose Enzeroth. Her father, John, died 03 Nov 1918 of pneumonia, in Pomeroy, Garfield, WA, when she was only 9 months old.

Dorothy and her sister Francis were living with their maternal grandparents, Charles and Mary Enzeroth near Walla Walla in Feb 1920 census.

Her mother, Clara, married Arnold Bowers in Jun 1920. At some point after 1920, Dorothy and her sister Frances began using their step-father's last name (Bowers).

Dorothy and Frances were both married on 3 Feb 1934 in Walla Walla. Dorothy Josephine Bowers married Edward Burlingame Dickinson 3 Feb 1934 in Walla Walla, Walla Walla, WA. Dorothy and Edward had 6 children: Edna May, Charles, Edward, Richard C., Gerald, and Robert W. Husband Edward died 31 Aug 1962.

Edna May Dickinson (Memorial# 75401532) and Charles Dickinson (Memorial# 75393571) are buried in the same plot as their father. Dorothy married Howard Frederick and died Aug. 21, 2002 in Stevensville, Ravalli, MT. She was buried 13 Sep 2002 in an adjoining plot to her first husband.

Dorothy Josephine Frederick, 84, of Stevensville died at her home on Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2002.

She was born on Feb. 6, 1918, at Walla Walla, Wash., and was the [step] daughter of Arnold and Clara Rose (Ensroth)[Enzeroth] Bowers.

Survivors include her husband, Howard Frederick of Stevensville; sons, Jerry Dickinson of Ely, Nev., Edward Dickinson and Robert Dickinson, both of Kalispell; three sisters, Frances Wetherman [Weathermon] and Betty Sutherland both of Pasco, Wash., and Marjorie in Portland, Ore. Eleven grandchildren also survive her.

Services will be held at a later date in Washington. The Whitesitt Funeral Home in Stevensville is in charge of arrangements.
