Henry M. Bastian, 87, a retired Calumet County farmer, died on Wednesday at his home, 140 Oak Street, Brillion after a lingering illness. Born Nov. 19, 1874, in the town of Brillion, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Freidrick Bastian, he was married to Anna Huebner on April 10, 1902. They farmed in the Town of Brillion until 1942 when they retired and moved to Brillion. Mr. Bastian was a member of the Emmanuel Evangelical United Brethren Church, Brillion.
Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Lorna, the wife of the Rev. Arthur C. Prust, Footville; three grandchildren, and two great grandchildren ; two sisters, Mrs. Ida Huebner, Brillion, and Mrs. W. H. Wiese, Rhinelander; and two brothers, Philip, Brillion, and Fred, Eden. Two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at Emmanuel Evangelical United Brethran Church at Brillion. The Rev. Willard Albertus will officiate and burial will be in Highland Memorial Cemetery, Appleton.
