Mrs. Beulah Thompson Wilkes, 78, Widow of John Wilkes, died at the Bethany Home in Vidalia Saturday morning after a brief illness. Born in Emanuel County, she had lived in Lyons for many years and was a member of the First United Methodist Church, member of the Friendship Sunday School Class and was a member of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by three sons: J.C. Wilkes of Lyons, Theron Wilkes of Knoxville, Tenn. and Bob Wilkes of Hinesville; two sisters: Miss Ada Thompson of Lyons and Mrs. Mattie Harrell of Vidalia; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted Monday morning at 11 o'clock at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Joe Porterfield officiating. Interment was in Lyons City Cemetery.

Trapnell-Jones Funeral Home of Lyons was in charge of arrangements.
