Billy Joe "Buzz" Brown


Funeral service for Billy Joe "Buzz" Brown, 70, of Somerville will be Friday, September 16, 2011, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home with Brother Brad Roath and Brother Mike Eaton officiating. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. Brown, who died Tuesday, September 13, 2011, at River City Care and Rehab, was born September 1, 1941, in Morgan County to Willie "Bill" Lee Brown and Bama Leoda Arden Brown. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, James and Raymond Brown; and one sister, Agnes Barnett. He retired from Delphi (Saginaw) in Athens where he was head custodian.

Survivors include three sons, David J. Brown of Decatur, Michael L. Brown of Odessa, Texas, and Anthony Brown of Midland, Texas; two sisters, Doris Lindsey of Decatur and Martha Shipley of Hartselle; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Pallbearers were nephews Jimmy Brown, Danny Brown, Charles Powell, Chris Powell, Ronnie Shipley and Steve Shipley.
