At 3:20 o'clock yesterday afternoon Isaac N Whitsel, of near Octagon, while working in his yard was overcome with the heat and died suddenly before medical aid could be secured. Several years ago he had a similar attack and has ever since been unable to stand excessive heat. Deceased was born october 8, 1834; was married to Jane Carr December 18, 1859; united with Mt Zion M E Church twenty-six years ago and has ever since been an earnest and devoted Christian, never neglecting his duty, never absent from his place. For many years he has been the leader of singing in both church and Sunday school. His home was a home of song and praise to God, through the beautiful voice with which he was blessed. He knew no enemies. He leaves a wife and three sons, David, Will C. and Luther T. The funeral will be held at Mr Zion church tomorrow (Friday) afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment at Hebron grave yard.
