After a long and valiant fight with cancer Marcia Dee (Filtz) Wooden slipped peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior on the morning of September 7, 2011. Marcia was born on January 13, 1955 to Harlan and Claudine (Harbison) Filtz in Perry, Oklahoma.

Marcia grew up and spent almost her entire life in the Orlando community. She went to the Orlando and Mulhall-Orlando schools and attended the First Christian Church where she was baptized in 1965.

In 1972 Marcia married Louis Karns and from this union had one son, Louis who was her pride and joy.

On August 16, 1985 Marcia married the love of her life Joe Wooden and the couple established a home on the farm northwest of Orlando.

Marcia had a strong spirit and loved the outdoors. She loved to spend her time with her horse, her flowers and fish pond, but she really had a passion for mowing and trimming. What most considered work is what brought her the most joy, and when she could not be outside, she enjoyed spending her time making quilts and trying to teach her parrot to talk.

Marcia also enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, especially if she could convince them to sing karaoke with her. She had a beautiful voice and loved to sing.

She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 12, 2011 at the First Christian Church in Orlando, Oklahoma. Pastor Adrian E. Pollard will officiate and be assisted by Pastor Bill Park.

Interment will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home.
