After the death of her first husband, Alexander Wakefield, she married Joseph Lewis McGimsey, the first postmaster of Fonta Flora. They were married in 1803. They lived at Pleasant Hill, the Wakefield property in what was then known as the Linville community.
She and Alexander had two sons, John and William. There were also three daughters.
Alley and Joseph McGimsey also had two sons, Joseph Alfonso amd Alpheus. They also had four daughters.
