Thursday, December 18, 2003 5:35 PM CST Gerald Randall Bass, 47, died Thursday, Dec. 11, 2003, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union County in New Albany. He was born Oct. 12, 1956, in Frankfort, Germany. He worked for Swift Transportation Company and was a member of Glenfield Baptist Church where he sang in the choir. He loved music and played guitar in the Carl Perkins band for several years. He loved gardening, golf and was a Civil War enthusiast. Services were at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 14, at Glenfield Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Lowery and the Rev. James Smith officiating. Burial was in Vista Memorial Park Cemetery. United Funeral Service was in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include his wife, Susan Lollar Bass of New Albany; his parents, Gerald Ray Bass and Joyce McAlpin Bass of New Albany; three daughters, Toby Thomas of Ripley, Elise Walden of Oxford and Tristin Golding of the home; four sons, Bleu Bass, Logan Bass, Tony Golding and Tanner Golding, all of the home; and one sister, Tammy Bass Wilkerson of the Macedonia community. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Roy and Jessie Bass and Eric and Roma McApin. Pallbearers were Dave Knott, Doyle Nix, Lee Morris, Johnny Neal Jr., Tim Cooper, Aaron Holt, Daryl Paulette and Sam Terry.
