Marjorie Strelesky, 81, of Silver Pines Assisted Living Community, died Monday, Jan. 15, 2001, in Mercy Medical Center after a long illness. Friends may call after 10 a.m. Wednesday at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home, where a wake service, conducted by Roseann Hayek, begins at 3 p.m. Entombment: Cedar Memorial Mausoleum. Surviving are seven nephews, a niece and two cousins. She was born Feb. 26, 1919, in Sheridan, Wyo., to John and Ernestine Sanders Strelesky . She had been a hair dresser in Bellevue, Wash., and Cedar Rapids for many years. In Cedar Rapids, she was co-owner of LeMar Beauty Salon. Marjorie graduated from Dubuque Senior High School and was a member of St. Matthew's Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids. She formerly was a member of St. Louise Catholic Church in Bellevue.
