Mrs. Bernice Short Bivens, 1623 E. Price, died at 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, December 26, at St. Joseph's Hospital.
Graveside services were held Friday, December 28, at Evergreen Cemetery. Dr. Raymond Armstrong officiated. Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
Bernice was born November 8, 1900 in Blossom Prairie, a daughter of Bob Short and Carrie E. Gladden. She first married George Goff Brown on March 26, 1926. He died March 17, 1952. She later married Virgil Bivens. He died in 1958. She was a member of First Christian Church.
Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Linnie Winn of Los Angeles, CA; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
