He was born in Niagara Falls, NY on September 22, 1916, the son of the late Harold and Millie Dier, where he attended local schools. Mr. Dier was employed as a yard conductor for Conrail, in Niagara Falls, NY for 37 years prior to retiring in 1978.
He was the widower of Della M. (Saunders) Dier, who died July 16, 1987.
He is survived by a daughter Joanne Barber, Cattaraugus, NY; three sons, James A. Dier, Sloan, NY; David M. Dier, Ransomville, NY; Kenneth M. Dier, Niagara Falls, NY. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
