Chief Joseph Seltice
Son of Chief Andrew Seltice, Joseph Seltice became Chief from 1932 to 1949. Joseph wrote two volumes of historical research that made a valuable contribution to historical research of Northwest history, giving written account of the Indian side of the story in “Saga of the Coeur d’Alenes.” Chief Seltice was also carrying on his fathers legacy by contributing toward the Indian Culture rebirth plan, as well as the birth of The Coeur d’Alene Tee Pee the first newspaper of the Coeur d’Alene Tribe that was dedicated to Indian Culture.
