Herbert Arthur "Herb" Neufeld was the second child and only son of Jacob Henry Neufeld and Helena Reimer. He worked a wide variety of jobs including a brief time in the Army in 1945.

Herb married Ida Lenora May on August 25, 1936. They had five children. Their second child, Gerald Dean, has joined them with the angels. Their marriage ended in divorce in 1945.

Herb remarried to Nora Marie Jarvis on August 28,1945. This was truly a love match and they also had 5 children. Their first child, Sandra Marie was premature and died when barely a month old.

Herb was killed in 1958 as the result of a fight in his home. His killer was never tried or brought to justice.

Herb's youngest child from his first marriage - my mother - remembers him as her "knight in shining armor." When he was around all was right with her young world. His second wife, Mother Marie, would always add Grandpa to our birthday cards. She carried him in her heart all the rest of her life.
